This poem describes a fairly typical high school student (at least, typical of students from my area). I think I'll save the horror of procrastinating for another poem; I just realized I left that part out! ^^;;

The Great Procrastinator

History essay assigned today,
Two more classes to get outta the way,
I think I'll ditch and go home and sleep,
(since I'm sixteen and have a Jeep,)
I certainly do not want to stay.

Forget math ‘nalysis, it's a chore,
Plus all the rest is just a bore.
At home I can sit and watch T V,
With a bowl of popcorn on my knee.
I put off things ‘till the night before.

English is fun if there's nothing to do.
And that also goes for Spanish III, too.
I'll copy the work from my very best friend,
My shirking puts off everything ‘till the end.
You can't teach to old dogs somethin' new.
