The Klik of the Month Klub meets right here on this very website on the third Saturday of every month at 4pm Pacific Time (taking daylight savings into consideration) for a two hour Klik & Play Showdown. Everyone who participates gets two hours to create something from scratch in Klik & Play. Abusing the stock objects is encouraged. If you really loathe Klik & Play you can use whatever game development platform you want. Two hours is a pretty tight time limit, though, so choose wisely!

Klik & Play is absolutely free to download, and learning it takes minutes, so everyone can get in on the action. Want to talk to your fellow Klikwreckers? Join us on IRC -- server irc.freenode.net, channel #glorioustrainwrecks. Join the mayhem!

This is more of a toy than a game, but I don't have time to do much right now. It'll let you know when to stop playing.

"Hey, wanna borrow this weird cart I just got at a garage sale? It's some game called "JUDGE GB". I guess the GB stands for GameBoy since that's what it runs on. Just let me know when you're done with it, I'd like it back!"

early entry SMASHENFREUDE

Experimenting with JBox2D! No standalone download for now:
go here to play SMASHENFREUDE: the joy of smashing!

Knock the pyramid of bricks down (each brick beneath the level of the table) in order to... get a bigger pyramid of bricks to knock down! I didn't have time to add in a timer or score system, or the arrows showing where bricks might still by flying through the air.

This was drawn heavily on my experience at the OLPC Physics Game Jam, and the code itself is mostly ripped up and remixed JBox2D demo code...

(I can't believe the word didn't exist on Google before now! I might have to make more and more extensive toys and games around the concept.)

Yeah, it's not perfect in that a brick gets smash and lands outside the computation area still higher than the platform, it'll never clear and go to the next level.

I found out about Box2D's springy "mouse joint" when I did OLPC, and it was so pleasant that I've been meaning to get back to it ever since...

More and more I realize how physics and motion is 80% of what I care about in games.

The Ludum Dare theme this weekend was 'Advancing Wall of Doom.'

By the way, I made this game with a piercing headache. After I finished and played some of the games, I was forced to get into bed and try to sleep so it could go away. It was luckily gone when I awoke.
