Lemon Quest

I'd already got my little brother playing the 529-in-One Pirate Kart, and he enjoyed it as massively as he could considering GameMaker games don't run on his machine. So I then installed KNP onto my brother's computer, told him, and showed him the Level Editor, Event Editor, and so on (but gave him very little guidance other than that).

After a week, I came back and found this.

I thought it needed to be posted, seeing as it's a wonderfully terrible game by a real, actual twelve year old messing around in KNP. Enjoy, or otherwise.

This is almost too wonderful

This is almost too wonderful to be true.

What I like about it is how

What I like about it is how it shows he's subconsciously absorbed the basic elements of level design - in the first level, he teaches that plants are ladders and lemons are targets, and then he adds danger for the next level and a big danger for the final one. He even has a good idea how much to punish the player (the obstacles just send you back to the start of that stage, except for touching the man at the end which sends you back to the start of the game). There are devs way older and smarter than him that don't grasp what he does. I'm so proud.

And the constantly exploding jesters, Comic Sans and people shooting castles from their eyes are just icing on the cake.

I'd love to see more! I

I'd love to see more!

I like how the one level has platforms that almost look like they could pass off as stairs until you hold right and fly off them, hitting the monster below. That, and the giant people graphics are always amusing.
