I'm seriously going to buy a screenprinting kit like this weekend. Ever since I got my 256th-level-of-Pacman shirt I have been seriously jonesing for more good-looking gaming-snob shirts.
I already bought a screenprinting kit, some glow-in-the-dark ink, and a handful of t-shirt blanks, but thanks for the link! It looks really awesome and I may just use it for designs that don't require me to include copyrighted clipart licensed under a "don't sell me" agreement.
I can tell you that if you want to strike up awkward conversations with the cashier in the Toys R Us videogame department, that shirt is your ticket.
I didn't know what Adventures of Alfredo was until I looked it up, but now I hunger for a torrent or something with every Big Blue Disk on it. John Romero did an interactive one that doesn't appear to be anywhere on the internet!
Big Blue Disk was interesting.
To be honest I was a bit more into Loadstar for the C=64.
(Actually what i was really into were the disk versions of Compute's Gazette, which if nothing else gave the world Crossroads and me the idea of Heat Seeker
I was recently musing if I have some kind of hoarder's syndrome for information, esp. URLs. I just hate the idea of missing something interesting. I don't think this is a sustainably healthy stance.
I used to have a del.icio.us, but I never used it because typing in tags and shit was just too high-friction; the reason I was bookmarking something was because I didn't have time to think about it! But then I got Read It Later and now I have all kinds of shit that's fascinating that I'll never get to.
I'm seriously considering building tools to help me filter and sort through collections of software. At the very least, emulators need an "I Feel Lucky" button. I feel like I need to write software to help me decide which videogames I should play.
What's sad for me is what to do with some of these old archives of links I archived away for future enjoyment, like the bottom part of http://alienbill.com/home/ , which was a convenient little mechanism I made up. That I no longer use because it too full of stuff I might never get to.
It's like I turn to technology to make up for weaknesses in my memory, but I'm fundamentally reluctant to let go, I think I have an ingrained unrealistic view of my capacity for noting the interesting bits of the universe.
Doing it again would be like hooking up with a highschool romance just so you can get with her more attractive sister. Or brother if you are so inclined.
According to this TIGSource thread, the second B-Games competition is happening this summer. We don't technically have to coordinate the Pirate Kart with the B-Game competition, but I would hate for us to NOT have an entry in the B-Game competition, and a Pirate Kart Meltdown is still the best way I know of to make that happen.
I should probably get cracking on a menu interface beforehand, though, because the current one is awful, and I have a surprising amount of need for a good hackable menu interface.
let's just do pirate kart 2, with the possible loose suggestion of an adult / educational theme for creators who need inspiration. we've built up a lot of momentum and brought on a lot more people since the first pirate kart and there's no reason we need to do what is emphatically a glorious trainwrecks event in tandem with some external competition. this is our own thing now, and the fact that our little community has grown is exactly why it's time we do another one.
Also, I have a Glorious Trainwrecks "event" I'm either going to start here in either a few days, or next month. If there's support enough for this first, I'll hold off and launch it after Pirate Kart II.

You can buy the complete Loadstar run for $25 (cheap!), and the complete run of Softdisk (Apple II) and Softdisk GS for $90 (not cheap!), but I haven't dug up a source, legal or otherwise, for Big Blue Disk yet.
Looks kind of like all of Compute's Gazette software, type-in and disk-based, is online, though.
I have some kind of software collector's disease, I think.
