This is maybe not something that is quite as good for games, but it's 24 hour comics day, where you draw a page every hour for 24 hours, and get a 24 page comic at the end. If anyone wants to make a comic, or a game with 24 screens, that would be sweet. I think i'll try making a game like this, it remains to be seen how well it will work. Comics, being always about stories, often do have a length metric, and a big volume feels better to hold and navigate through. The same can't always be said about games, as many big games feel tedious at times, but maybe that's not because of the medium, but how certain people and groups approach it. This was just an extended free ramble, but i'm not editing it. Make a 24-screen game and post it here, or a 24-page comic, or both if you're REALLY REALLY AWESOME.
Here are the original directions for the 24-hour comic challenge, make them analogous to making games in whatever way you see fit.

Non-game creative events are
Non-game creative events are probably fine here. I'll try to make a conventional comic that is pseudo-interactive, but not in a digital way if that makes sense. It probably doesn't.
Also, I disagree that comics are always about stories. Check out some of the search results for 'abstract comics' and see if you change your mind.
The 24 hour comics also tend
The 24 hour comics also tend to be autobiographical I think (though I'd hesitate to make Joe Matt: The Game!)
Some are autobiographical,
Some are autobiographical, but a lot aren't. Hourly Comics Day is overwhelmingly autobiographical, though.
It's a really cool idea, but
It's a really cool idea, but I won't have 24 consecutive hours to make a game. I'll try to participate in some fashion, though.

Ooh, I might do a KnP-style thing for this. I don't think I can do 24 consecutive hours but something close.

Stuff I made for 24-Hour Comics Day
I did actually do stuff for this and I've just been putting off posting here. There was an actual local meatspace event which I attended with pre-existing friend Liam. I warmed up with comics inspired by dreams, ideas, drawings, suggestions and general banter by other attendees (Liam, Michel, Kate & Amy):
(The mid-section of this overly long comic was omitted, but you should get the idea)
I also managed to complete two 12 page booklets in my Widdershins series. These were my attempt at pseudo-interactivity, as they use an invented number system and cipher language that can be decoded in a game-like way. I've been planning to make this available for sale online since the event ended, hopefully I get around to it soon. For now, here's a preview:
