On May 20, Nintendo will put an end to DS and Wii Wi-Fi Connection functionality, and with it the last Nintendo-sanctioned method of transferring WarioWare D.I.Y. wares for distances of over 65 feet. Before that happens, let's make and swap as many microgames, records and comics as we can!

Submitting to this event

Ideally you should send your games to everyone, but be sure to send your games to me specifically! I'm accepting submissions via DS and Wii (both of which require a mutual friend code exchange) along with .mio files from anyone with the means to make those. I plan to convert and archive all submissions as .mio files for posterity, and if this event takes off they could see release as the Glorious Trainwrecks WarioWare D.I.Y. Pirate Kart, which I'll worry about the logistics of later.

Potentially helpful tools

If you have a flashcart or access to your WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase save file, a lot of extra possibilities open up:

1. miotool and mioedit by yasu (Ctrl+F to find) allows you to transfer .mio files (representing games, records and comics) between your save file and computer, then extract and edit their contents.
2. CrygorTool performs many of the same features, but doesn't subtly inject the text 'yasu' into everything you run through it.
3. bobmcjr is currently developing another tool that includes and expands on many of the above features. It even includes MIDI export for records! Follow this thread!
4. A combination of DeSmuME and LICEcap has allowed me to make some pretty sweet microgame GIFs. But if this process is too tricky for you, I'd be happy to make GIFs of your submitted microgames on request.

Tips

1. In order to connect your DS to the internet, you'll have to access a router using WEP encryption, a borderline obsolete encryption method that you are almost certainly not currently using!
2. In the DS version, your friend code can be found (after connecting to the internet at least once) under Distribution Centre > WFC > Friend Settings on the top screen. WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase on the Wii just uses standard Wii friend codes.
