The way I managed to stop doing that is to remember that someone might be listening who thinks that my games blog is better than theirs. So when I call mine crappy, they hear me calling theirs crappier. Good Luck!

also I've read in hunter gatherer bands it's common when someone catches a large animal to say "this is all skin and bones it's nothing really". If the hunter boasts, everyone will insult the meat for him. It makes sure nobody has an ego. It's called reverse dominance hierarchy.
