This is really polished! Thanks for fixing all the graphical glitches and other quirks we might have missed, must have taken quite some time.
I love what you did with the dry version of the level, all the little dialogue changes and everything. And that ending area too, which I must admit you hid pretty well~ Would have missed it if I hadn't gone into the level editor to poke around, heh.
Great job, everyone! Was a fun experience, and has left me in a knytting mood, might try to make my first real level sometime soon.
Thanks for the praise. Yeah, the finishing touches took way too long, something like three days filled with long periods of continuous work. I'm glad I did it, though.
I really hope you do decide to do more knytting! Your area was really, really well designed, which isn't something I was expecting from an enigmatic stranger who seemingly joined the site just for this event. Please do stick around!
I'm glad you didn't cry! I realised at some point I had to close off part of the level in order for the narrative to not break. They were a hazard, anyway!
Were the accident and mine opening modifications OK? I can't decide if I liked the checkerboard pattern more as a ground transition.
I'm planning to update this with an incredibly minor bugfix and then post it on Nifflas' forum, so if there are any errors you spotted or changes you'd like made tell me now!
This is a really minor nitpick, but I'd prefer it if you'd change my area's name back to "Town and Country" (as opposed to "Town + Country"). It's supposed to be a play on the phrase of the same name. If you renamed it due to character limitations, though, then the new name's fine with me.
That was the reason, but I'm sure I can figure out a better way. I thought 'Town & Country' would be the perfect compromise, but Nifflas didn't put an ampersand character into Knytt Stories. :(
Do you think any of these offer a good solution? I'm leaning towards the third.
The ending was amazing. It really tied the whole thing together in a way that I wouldn't have bothered with haha. Thanks for putting so much work into this Sergio!
I have no qualms with you uploading this to Nifflas' forum as-is.
Thanks. I got really attached to this level as I saw it being developed bit by bit. I think it's my favourite of the Knytt Stories levels I've worked on, so I wanted to give it an ending that referenced as many other contributors' areas as I could (unfortunately that turned out to only be three). I definitely couldn't have gotten there without the second area you added, though. It made the workload of stuff I felt the level needed way more manageable for me. Well, frankly it wouldn't be the same if anybody who participated had decided not to!
Honestly, I was afraid I had dumped a huge project on you at the end there, so I'm glad it was actually helpful haha! If it was me, I would have just skipped to a dry version of your first section and ended the game with an "oh man i ruined everything" sort of moment (why do i always do bad endings what is wrong with me). The time machine was inspired though, and I really liked the happy ending!
My heart felt warm in a way that I am not used to. This has awoken my soul. This game was like drinking a refreshing sports drink on a rainy summer day after working out for a while. And, it took place on a rainy day. Part of me wanted it to just rain forever in this land, but I really wanted to see the end screen.
