I was thinking before the event started that something really cool could be done with ZZT in monochrome mode. It fits the atmosphere of this thing perfectly. I really dig this.
Is anyone having a hard time coping with the difficulty? I toned it down a bit because I thought that having all the monster's AI and the duplicators set to max on those lower decks was a bit much. There's still a tendency for swarming but it's much better than it was.
i was able to avoid a lot of fighting cause the duplicators are all pretty slow. the way some of the decks were laid out confused me - up is always back to the map and down is to the next part of the deck?
Those are emergency lifts that take you back to the top deck so you can restock and get a breather. Decks are numbered in reverse order because I've always thought that's the way it was done. Alien was on TV a few weeks ago, I recall that they counted the deck numbers up as they were chasing the acid spillage down.
As soon as I saw "emergency lifts" and "Alien", I knew I had to play this one first.
This was a pretty easy game for me: stock up on health and run through the level before the monsters take over. I had a close call near the end because I had to backtrack a bit, and quite a few monsters had spawned by the time I got back. It might have been more challenging if there were already monsters in each level, or if you had to return to an old level for something.

Also, that's a very crisp title screen!
The huge number of health
The huge number of health bonuses meant I finished it pretty handily by just running around and hardly worrying about monsters at all.
Of course, I'm sure getting the fuck out of the room as fast as possible helped a lot too.
I was thinking that maybe I
I was thinking that maybe I should do a sequel.
Do it.
Do it.
I'll use SuperZZT. PSYCHE!

Nah, you really should
SuperZZT is untapped potential. Even I've yet to unlock the secrets of it.it's like having your tv dinner and looking at it too.
