...I think I beat the game. I found a secret spot that lets me stay completely still and avoid any damage. The mice don't reach it, and the homing rats won't appear.

EDIT: I let it run for like 10 hours, and ended up with a score of over 3 million points. Kind of wild to see the game's score go that high.
