Alternate between the left and right arrows to pump the accordion.
"Left Shift", "z", "x", "c", and "v" are the keys of the accordion.
Play a nice song for the ladies so that they may dance!
4 buttons and an arrow and some beeps. That it? It's not quite.. and it isn't either. What you have here is a crowd pleaser that if you're willing to drop down the time to update loony pietoons, you might come across not only a short game, but a jamsession on an accordion with a little crowd walking.. beep beep beep woo.. it's difficult to say, it can be enjoyed by accordion enthusiasts who just simply don't have an outlet for accordion jamming.
Sometimes when I make music I liked to throw in some accordion samples, maybe even replace some midi instruments with accordion. It captures that essence without biasing me further with actual accordion riffs. It's like you have to imagine the accordion in your heart and yeah, biased as it is games with accordions or songs with a little accordion get Arrow Up thumbs northward eyes on the prize treatment.
The whole coding aspect and the look in general is also a good kool, gives off the sentiment of in depth.. and in-game controls, something I don't bother with as much in my games... It's a characteristic beat that shouldn't be passed on, otherwise check out the video links. Gr8 work.
Yeah, I found this little toy accordion at a toy-store and became obsessed with it. I like how it has a harmonica-esque organization of notes between breathing out and breathing in. It's very hard to make dissonant sounds come out of it. I think that harmonicas and toy accordions are great because people who don't think of themselves as musicians can play it and feel awesome. What is awesomer than making good music? People dancing to it! So I really wanted to code it so that the pushing and pulling made different notes, the limitations of the accordion stretching and compacting would limit musical phrases and I wanted to code the dances to react directly to how you play. I might eventually put more stuff in there, but this was the first time I felt like a game I made felt complete enough to publish.
