The nerf-aesthetic is neat to think about; taking game-mechanics that are typically used with violent themes and putting a layer of kawaii on them. The tendency of these games to eradicate sad, mean, or menacing icons with symbols of love and understanding is particularly intriguing. I can think of a few games that do this, but the Care-Bears have been doing it for decades.
