I really liked the writing, especially the protagonist's alien, inscrutable through processes. It made the otherwise familiar and friendly people seem somewhat sinister, even naive. It was the perfect interior monologue for a scientist who creates impossible, incomprehensible, uh, things. They speak with a relative confidence and precision about these impossible phenomena.
