Game Maker tip: if you're using the "Fixed scale (in %)" option to scale your game up, it will certainly come out blurry. But instead, if you go to every room, enable views and make the "Port on screen" width and height double the size of the width and height of the "View in room", it is scaled up crisper.
(Of course ChevyRay observes that "it causes ugly seams to appear in your graphics when displayed on certain machines", but it's not a problem that I've personally observed, and it still seems preferable to the standard method.)
Actually, on the computer I made this game on, using "fixed scale" gives crisp graphics as long as you don't enable the "interpolate colors between pixels" option. But on my netbook it's blurry, so I think it's dependent on the graphics card. I tried using the viewport method in this game but I was getting the "ugly seams" described.
I recall some other scaling method involving surfaces that always produces crisp graphics with no ugliness, but I think some graphics cards have trouble with surfaces.
Yep, every method comes with its own special set of problems! I tend have the game running at the resolution I think it should be displayed at and use GM's sprite scaling to render bigger pixel art. This method definitely isn't practical (especially for multiple resolutions) but it seems to play the nicest with different graphics cards.

This game sure is stressful! I like that you included a familiar looking cat-sprite.

I really like the lives system - the challenge of getting as many new lives as possible is quite rewarding!

I may never beat the third screen, but I love this thing. Keep doing what you do, chuchino.

After a few tries I was able to get up to level 4. I'll try again later.
